Checklist for Oral and Poster Presentations As you prepare your poster or slides, please note the following suggestions for accessible communications:

Design
·     San Serif Font (unembellished, easily legible font)
·     Font size of 12pt or higher
·     8% of males are red-green blind: use blue/red (or yellow or orange) contrast rather than red/green; single hue palette is better than multi-color palette
·     Use labels on graphs rather than legends
·     Use different shapes of symbols and lines
Layout
·     Left Alignment
·     Use plain background, or, if using an image, ensure it does not obscure the text
·     Avoid using all capital letters, LIKE THIS
Content
·     Concise, informative text in plain English
·     Emphasize the key details by using large text, bold text and spacing the key facts into their own, prominent areas.
·     Include Contact Details for a named person who addresses accessibility considerations, e.g. to make individual appointment in quieter areas

Submission Deadlines
Oral Abstracts: February 28, 2025 (CLOSED)
Poster Abstracts: EXTENDED April 15, 2025

All presenting authors need to register for the meeting in order to submit or present an abstract. The link for abstract submission will be sent in a confirming email message immediately after registration is completed.

On both dates, the cutoff time is 23:59 Pacific Time (U.S. west coast). You must be registered to attend the meeting prior to submitting an abstract.

Guidelines
A template will not be provided. Submissions will be subject to the following limitations: Title = 40 words; Abstract = 400 words; image files cannot be included. Authors should be entered in the same order they are to appear in the program.

You will be able to return and complete the submission later if you do not have all the required information initially, however the submission must be completed by the deadline date. All subsequent logins to amend an abstract must be done with the same user account as the original submission.

PI Ranking
If multiple oral abstracts are submitted from one lab, the PI will be asked to rank the abstracts. Emails will be sent to PIs by March 4 and PIs must reply by March 11 to have their rankings considered by the organizers. In the case of multiple senior PIs on an abstract, only one can be identified as the contact for this ranking.

Digital Content Library (DCL)
The RNA Society has suspended the DCL program for 2025. You will not be required to upload a link to your recorded oral presentation or poster PDF.

Decisions
Decisions about oral presentations were sent March 13, 2025. All oral abstracts which were not selected for a talk were automatically accepted as posters.  One submission is sufficient – please do not submit the same abstract twice for both oral and poster.

Questions regarding abstract submission should be sent by email to RNA2025@nullrnasociety.org.
