Travel to Prague

We suggest that you go first to your hotel and leave your luggage before going to the Congress Centre. The Congress Centre does not offer secure storage for luggage.

ARRIVING BY PLANE
Vaclav Havel (Ruzyne) Prague International Airport (PRG) is situated about 20 km west from the city center. This website provides information for all the local transportation choices: http://www.prg.aero/en/parking-transport/transport/public-transit/

Public Transport
Take the bus #119 to the last stop, which is Nadrazi Veleslavin Metro (subway) station. Transfer to the green Metro line A and follow directions to your hotel. If you are staying at the Corinthia Hotel or Holiday Inn near the Congress Center, ride the green A line to Muzeum station. At Muzeum station transfer to the red Metro line C and go to Vysehrad station. The Congress Center and both hotels are near Vysehrad station.

Get a ticket for 90 min for 32CZK for travel from the airport to your hotel:

  • Public Transport counters in Arrival Halls of Terminals 1 & 2 (7 am – 10 pm)
  • Cash machines placed at bus stops (cash required)
  • From a bus driver (cash required, the driver may not speak English)

No need to buy a long-term ticket when you arrive in Prague, because you will receive a free 5-day transit pass (valid through Saturday 3 June) when you check-in at the Congress Center.

Please, validate the ticket by stamping it in the machine upon entering the public transport system! If you would be stopped by a control (they are quite frequent) and your ticket would not be validated, you will have to pay a fine.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN
Prague has three international railway stations and a bus station, all connected to the subway stations. The plan of the subway system is in every train above sliding doors and elsewhere. You would most likely arrive to the Main Station (Hlavni nadrazi). The meeting venue is on the same red line C at the subway stop Vysehrad, which is the third stop from Hlavni nadrazi.

ARRIVING BY CAR
Prague is a major crossroads for European East-West and North-South road traffic. Highways and motorways link Prague with all surrounding countries. It now takes only two hours to reach the German border by car.

Check the parking options at your hotel beforehand because your hotel might be in one of the resident parking zones and you might have some troubles finding a parking place for free. Do not park in blue parking zones, you could get a fine or, worse, your car could be towed away. You can park in white parking zones but you have check around if that particular place is for free or not (it’s indicated on the parking sign).
