Accommodations

Group bookings have been arranged for RNA 2018 at the DoubleTree Berkeley Marina Hotel and in UC Berkeley residence halls (campus dorms). Several other hotels and inns are located within walking distance of campus and can be booked online however no special arrangement has been made for RNA 2018. Many additional hotels in San Francisco and Oakland can be reached via public transportation (BART) to the Downtown Berkeley BART station, which is approximately 10 minutes walking from plenary and poster sessions.

CAMPUS DORMS

If you wish to stay in the UC Berkeley residence halls, you should book your room at the same time as your conference registration. Dorm lodging will be offered as an option during registration, and at the end you will make one payment in the total amount for both conference registration and dorm accommodation. When asked about lodging, mark UC Berkeley dorms as your choice and add the applicable fee for your desired room type. Dorm cancellations prior to April 30 will be refunded subject to a $30 cancellation fee. After April 30 the UC Berkeley dorm reservations are not refundable.

Dorm reservations will be accepted only for a minimum 5-night package including breakfast, arriving Tuesday, May 29 and departing Sunday, June 3, 2018. If you actually stay fewer nights you will not be refunded, and you cannot substitute for different nights. The dorms are located approximately 5-10 minutes walking from plenary and poster sessions.

UC Berkeley dorm rates are total per person for 5 nights including breakfast, taxes and $15 booking fee:

Single occupancy with shared hallway bath: $430
Double or triple occupancy with shared hallway bath: $315 per person
Single occupancy with semi-private ensuite bath: $480
Double or triple occupancy with semi-private ensuite bath: $345 per person

You may add one night before and/or after the conference (arriving Monday, May 28 and/or departing Monday, June 4) for an additional nightly fee. These nightly rates include breakfast and tax:

Single with shared hallway bath extra night: $83
Double or triple with shared hallway bath extra night: $60 per person
Single with semi-private ensuite bath extra night: $93
Double or triple with semi-private ensuite bath extra night: $66 per person

HOTELS

There are many accommodations to be found on the internet. Reservations and payments should be made directly with the hotels. A credit card guarantee or pre-payment will be required and reservations are subject to the booking and cancellation policies imposed by the hotels. Please contact the hotels directly with any questions.

The conference has reserved a block of rooms at the DoubleTree Hotel Berkeley Marina. This hotel is located on the waterfront with views of San Francisco and is not within walking distance of campus. The nightly rate includes a dedicated RNA charter bus from hotel to campus, arriving in time for the start of the first session each day and returning from campus to hotel at the end of the last session each night. The RNA bus will only run at the start and end of the day; during other times throughout the day Berkeley city bus 51B is available with stops 5 minutes walking from campus and 15 minutes walking from the hotel. Ride share (Uber, Lyft, etc.) is also readily available in Berkeley.

Sales tax will be added to the above rates, currently 13.2% but subject to change without notice.

These rates include motor coach transportation to campus for the start of first session and from campus at the end of last session. WiFi in guest rooms is included.

The deadline for reservations is March 29, 2018 or when the group block is full, whichever occurs first. After March 29 or after the group block is full, the hotel may continue to offer rooms on a space available basis but possibly at a higher rate.
