Information

Berkeley is served by two major airports: Oakland (OAK) is closer, smaller and easier to manage; San Francisco (SFO) is connected to nearly every major airport in the world. From either airport, you can get to Berkeley by taxi, privately operated shuttle vans, rideshare programs such as Uber or Lyft, or public transportation (BART). Both airports offer ground transportation information on their websites.

SFO – San Francisco International Airport:  https://www.flysfo.com/to-from/overview

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)

To reach campus via BART, take the Richmond line and get off at the Downtown Berkeley Station. From SFO during nights and weekends you might have to transfer in downtown San Francisco (see BART map below for detail).

The Downtown Berkeley station is located one block from the west side of campus on Shattuck Avenue. From there most hotels, dorms and Zellerbach Hall (conference registration) are within 15-20 minutes walking. You can also catch a taxi, Uber or Lyft, or during daytime hours catch the Bear Transit shuttle ($1 fee) which will let you off along the perimeter of campus.

PARKING
Daily commuter parking is offered in a variety of lots near campus, some operated by UC Berkeley and others by the City of Berkeley. Overnight parking is generally not permitted in these lots. Attendees who are staying in hotels should request parking information directly from the hotel. Attendees who are staying in the dorms can purchase an overnight parking permit at the residence hall desk during dorm check-in.
